I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize the upcoming bout.
Former two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I will really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest financial successes, consistently making huge earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually happening.
